SYNOPSIS
Governor Abdullahi A. Sule rushed to the scene of a fire incident that gutted down Nasarawa Eggon market, where he sympathized with the traders and reiterated that
Nasarawa Eggon given its growing cosmopolitan status deserves a befitting modern market reminiscent of the types which government has built-in Lafia, Karu, Akwanga and which at that time was being completed in his hometown of Gudi. His Excellency also initiated THE 1ST ABDULLAHI A. SULE MEDIA DINNER to recognize, applaud and encourage practicing journalists who are fair, objective, and balanced in their reportage. G o v e r n o r Abdullahi A . S u l e thereafter inaugurated two committees on Tuesday 7th January 2020; the first to ensure THE IMPLEMENTATION OF NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE, while the second committee will be tasked with mission to improve IGR: INTERNALLY GENERATED REVENUE
ANALYSIS:
Exactly ten days to the end of 2019, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule donated N3m to mark the 20th anniversary of EGGON NEWS at Abacha Youth Centre in Lafia, on Thursday 21st November 2019. The N3m was a gesture of his administraon’s support towards the sustenance of community journalism in Nasarawa State, and also as a token of encouragement to inspire the upsurge of young talents in journalism especially as EGGON NEWS has distinguished itself for its credible reportage and exemplary
professionalism. Two days later, exactly eight days to the end of 2019, Governor Sule organized the very 1st ABDULLAHI A. SULE ANNUAL MEDIA DINNER. This was clearly a timely, relevant and imaginative event, and the VERY 1ST OF ITS KIND IN NIGERIA reminiscent of the ANNUAL WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS DINNER which is the honest cket in Washington. ALBERT EINSTEIN is quoted to have said: “Imagination is more important than knowledge” because while knowledge can help you identify things and also make you understand things; it is imagination
that will make you SEE THE WORLD and SHOW YOU HOW YOU CAN CHANGE THE WORLD! By his bold and unbridled ideas, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule keeps showing that he is blessed with both knowledge and imagination. This is a Governor who rises above the banality of politics and is poised to disrupt the status quo in a way that is not merely incremental but transformative for the greater good of Nasarawa
State and the entire country.
KEY:
Abdullahi A. Sule has elevated governance in Nasarawa State to become more
people centered, futuristic, and economically driven on the basis of global best practices and the building of institutions. This is in line with the vision of the World Health Organization which defined a healthy society in 1986 during the Oawa conference as: “A healthy society is one which possesses the nine key elements of Peace, Shelter, Education, Food, Income, Sustainable Resources, Social Justice, Equity, and A Stable Ecosystem!”
