ANALYSIS:
The establishment of a world-class Museum in Keffi will be timely, relevant and in consonance with the overall determination of Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule to uplift Nasarawa State to its rightful place as a tourist destination and an investment haven. When we analyze Child Protection and Al-majiri syndrome, what immediately comes to mind is the age old scourge of Poverty, Child trafficking; Out of School Children, Child Labour, and Terrorism. Our people are living witnesses to how Boko Haram has made Nigeria famous for the wrong reasons throughout the world. Today in Nigeria, we live with the tragic displacement of humanity and gory reality of monumental refugee crises as well as the almost incomprehensible crime against humanity, which Boko Haram has perpetrated. According to Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, there is no crime worse than a parent giving birth to a child and throwing off the child into the street to start begging, thereby making these innocent children mostly from the ages of 4 years old to become vulnerable prey, ready tools, and easy recruits for insurgents like Boko Haram. By his words and in his actions, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule looks at the local environment to find the answers to solve “peculiar” local problems like the scourge of street begging by children in the guise of seeking Islamic religious knowledge as Al-majirai! As a solution, Governor Sule sees President Muhammadu Buhari as a perfect example and a living inspiration for leaders to find the moral courage to reform the Al-majiri system in Northern Nigeria and banish street begging! Accordingly, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule says: “To solve problems as intractable as Almajiri and children begging on the streets, issues, we must follow the example of our President, Muhammadu Buhari who leads “BY THE FEAR OF GOD ALMIGHTY! Let us simply do what is right and TAKE DIFFICULT DECISIONS on the basis of FEAR OF GOD!”
