Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule has declared at the Wana Cultural Day that he does not play politics with education in Nasarawa State.
Speaking at Wana Community Secondary School in Kagbu, Engr Sule revealed that on assumption of office in 2019, he engaged the Faculty of Social Sciences in the Federal University Lafia to conduct a baseline survey that will reveal the true condition of schools in Nasarawa State.
To create an effective rescue plan for education, the Governor began by sending a research team led by Prof Isa Kida to go round 1,350 Primary and 413 Secondary Schools throughout Nasarawa State from December 2019 to March 2020, so as to find out the true conditions of classrooms, libraries, hostels as well as availability of water and security.
Engr A.A. Sule described the Wana Cultural Day organized by ECDA: Eggon Cultural and Development Association, as a noble event which seeks to renew cultural identity and promote education.
Yakubu Lamai, DG Strategic Communication, who represented the Governor revealed that Engr A.A. Sule does not play politics with education, because he is a leader who is driven by the conviction that, access to quality is essential to the development of any society and school attendance can only be enhanced through quality teaching and learning in a conducive environment, which is why the Governor supported Wana Community Secondary School with a donation of N1 Million.
Notable Eggon personalities including Haruna Alaku, Chairman ECDA Wana Worldwide, Dr Vincent Paul (Guest Speaker), Hon Yakubu Lawal, Commissioner for Information and Hon Juliana Esla and SA on Disabilities Hadiza Kasimu, all attended the cultural day where Prof Mary Ango, the first female professor from Nasarawa State and Mr. Joseph Emaku Edom were presented with awards of honour
