It is a known fact that ordinary people get involved in sports for reasons of social connections, exercise, passion, competition, etc. – but a government which has shown so much love and commitment towards sports development like the administration of Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule in Nasarawa State, and has invested and still continues to support sports development in Nasarawa State with so much zest, must be aiming for higher societal goals and objectives.
Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule’s blueprint of leadership and handmaiden is NEDS: Nasarawa Economic Development Strategy, and this NEDS document emphasizes that Nasarawa State must be competitive in terms of its “livability” or ability to attract investors to relocate and raise their families in Nasarawa State.
Sports as we know transcends borders, cultures, languages, genders, races, religions, and economic status. In other words, regardless of who we are, where we are from, or what we believe in, we can all enjoy sports.
And that is why His Excellency Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule has spared no cost in using sports to connect the people of Nasarawa State and to grow the economy, generate goodwill and facilitate exchanges between Nasarawa State and the rest of the world, beginning with the rest of Nigeria.
It is for these reasons and more that the administration of Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule has promoted and invested so much in the sports sector from May 29th 2019 to May 29th 2021in order to garner recognition and prestige for Nasarawa State, improve the health, livelihood and social cohesion of ordinary people and also to build a good reputation, high esteem and a sense of warm welcome for prospective investors and those who want to make a living to relocate to Nasarawa State.
