Engr Sule in his Inaugural Address on May 29th 2019, articulated some policy issues which laid emphasis on improvement in security and conflict resolution through poverty alleviation, community-based conflict resolution mechanism and renewed active collaboration with security agencies and traditional rulers.
Engr Abdullahi A. Sule has for over three years been championing an enhancement of the performance of traditional rulers in the constitution, especially, as it regards the maintenance of security and resolution of conflicts in their areas of domain; while he is also considering the revival of the age-old concept of SARKIN DAJI (Chiefs of the Forests) whose traditional purview and specialized responsibility is to keep vigilance over uncharted forests which are dense, distant and impenetrable.
It is as a practical way for government to improve the gains of community-based conflict resolution mechanism which has been in practice in Nasarawa State, that Engr Abdullahi A. Sule approved a 2-Day workshop on capacity building for traditional rulers on how to manage community grievances, rivalry and indigenous animosities among local people.
The workshop held at the Nasarawa State Ministry Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs, where a research report on Ending Violence in the North Central region was also launched.
