His Excellency, Engr Abdullahi A. Sule has on the 6th September, 2022, with the Executive Secretary of UBEC, Dr. Hameed Boboyi commissioned the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) 2nd Chance Model School in Kurmin Tagwaye, a suburb of Akwanga local government of the State.
It would be recalled that the government of Nasarawa State since 2019 under Engr A.A. Sule has embarked on statewide construction of classrooms in the fulfilment of Governor A.A. Sule’s solemn commitment to execute policies and programmes towards the improvement of the standard of education in Nasarawa State.
Also, on the 11th December, 2019 Engr A.A. Sule performed the official commissioning and Handing-over of Lafia West L.G.E.A Primary School and Government Secondary School Odurogya, Doma, which were constructed in collaboration with the sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among others.
The drive for good and quality education in the State made Governor A.A. Sule from 2019 till date to allocate 26%, 30% and 31% in the budgets he presented to the State House of Assembly, which is above the 20% global benchmark recommended by the United Nations for Government to spend as expenditure on education in their annual budget.
Shortly after the commissioning of the newly constructed UBEC Model School, Engr. A.A. Sule proceeded to the Akwanga Local Government Education Authority and donated School chairs, desk and other materials to Schools across the Northern senatorial zone of the State.
